Looks like you were hit squarely in the nuts with a case of "Retail Apathy", or, as we in the business called it, "I don't give a fuck about my job, so why should I give a fuck about you?" I used to work at Home Depot. I knew these people well. They are just looking for a paycheck. I, myself, detest sounding like an idiot, so I took it upon myself to learn all I could about my dept. and all surrounding depts. Most people in retail never care enough to go to these lengths.
