First, the good news is that this here blog is now the number one Google result for "Mid-Michigan best burger", the contest I've been pimping so hard lately. I even beat out the sponsoring radio station's Web site.
The bad news is that The Mountain Inn got third place. Sad Kitty.
The bad news is that The White Horse Inn got first place. At first I grudgingly acknowledged this. The White Horse is kind of a hip bar. Lots of lawyers go there. I could see how they could pull off such a coop duh gracie. Then I looked closer and saw that the bar in question was actually some place in Metamora. Metamora! Who drives to Metamora?!? I'll tell you who: communists! At first I was puzzled how a hamlet of just 507 people could make such a prize-grab. Then, it occurred to me: when you have three billion screaming red Chinese voting for your bar you tend to win.
The Torch came in second, which is pretty unexpected since their burgers are pretty fierce and they have a young wired-in crowd.
Thanks to everyone who voted, even if you didn't vote for The Mountain Inn. Surprisingly, I came up against some vehement voices during this contest. People were shockingly loyal to their burgers and resisted all attempts to cajole them into helping my bar out. They remained firmly set on their burger of choice and voted in spite of my pleas.
I guess that's why those people are fat.
