So my friend Becky got a new kitten a few weeks back. His name is Jackson.

Now, I'm a dog person. So my cat knowledge is pretty weak outside of the time I was adopted by my roommate's kitten for a few weeks. So, to my ignorant eyes he seems pretty normal, although a bit aggressive during playtime. In fact it's apparently ALWAYS playtime as Becky says he'll attack her hands or toes in the middle of the night. But I digress...

Jackson has been on solid food for weeks but he's developed this weird behavior where he seems to feel the need to suckle. On people. Witness the evidence:

He isn't sleeping, he is lying on her face, eyes closed and paws gently kneading her cheeks while he sucks on her eyelid, purring contentedly. He will also do this to your thumb, your cheek or your chin. I've even let him do this to me a few times because frankly it's goddamned adorable and he seems to enjoy it immensely. Is this normal behavior? Becky has had cats before and is says this is bizarre. She's a bit concerned for his developmental...uh, developments and is worried he might be regressing. Everyone else I've asked about this just looks at me like I'm crazy. Googling is a bit more helpful but not much.

Thoughts?
